While I absolutely adore RMS Beauty and have recommended their products to many of my readers, I’ve gotten a few complaints about “snippy” Customer Service when they had questions or weren’t crazy about a product. Unfortunately, I’ve also had my own experience with this as well even though the product I received was free for this review.
- It’s highly pigmented…a little goes a long way!
- Doubles as a Foundation + Eye Shadow Primer also.
- Both girls + guys can use this… it’s truly undetectable.
- Quenching for those worried about anti-aging or mature skin.
- Quality + Simplicity of the Ingredients.
- Glass jar with a metal lid instead of plastic.
- Sticker Shock! It’s a pretty tiny jar for the price.
- Only comes in 4 shades. Simplifies the choice with less options which is a plus, but limiting for those with darker skin tones.
Absolutely!
So far, this is the best concealer I’ve found in natural cosmetics yet! Great coverage when you need it but doesn’t look caked on! On a daily basis I only use this as a concealer / eye shadow primer due to the price tag, but the RMS website says you can also use it as a foundation, which I sometimes do too. What I love most (besides the ingredients) is that it literally looks like you’re not wearing anything! Luckily I was right on the money with the first shade I chose, # 22… often a near impossible task online! Initially, I had a love / hate relationship with the texture of this just as I did with my Vapour Organic Beauty Soft Focus Foundation… which I now am IN LOVE with, BTW! If you didn’t like that though, you might not like this. It’s almost like a balm that melts from the friction of your fingers and glides well once creamy giving you that nice glowey finish. It tends to be a little greasy especially around my super-sensitive eye area – so I need to set it with powder, otherwise it creeps. I wouldn’t recommend this for those with extremely oily, unbalanced skin…. it can feel heavy + greasy at first until you get used to it. My skin is finally starting to feel balanced, so that’s why I think it works so well for me. I’m used to using a pot concealer with a brush + sponge from my MAC days, but blending it with nature’s applicators is the best way to apply this particular product. I’ve been using RMS “Un” Cover Up for about 4 months + it’s lasted way longer than I actually thought it would, so that’s a plus! Despite the price, the ingredients are impeccable, the product blends seamlessly, preforms well and lasts throughout the day or night. I absolutely would purchase this again! Thanks RMS! xo.

October 27, 2013 at 5:51 pmYou do realize that with a bit of creativity, you can make this concealer at home. In fact, I think I have all of the ingredients at my home now, except for the mineral pigments, which wouldn’t be hard to purchase. If you make a basic DIY lipstick recipe that uses coconut oil, castor oil, beeswax, cocoa butter and jojoba (and there are plenty online if you hunt around!), all you have to do is add the rosemary, and Vit. E. You could even leave out the rosemary, as I suspect they use it as an extra preservative, but lavender also has antibacterial properties, as well as other ones. For a more matte coverage, you would just add more beeswax, or a pinch of kaolin clay.
I have heard this concealer is very good, but costly, and it sounds like they are taking advantage of women who are looking for natural alternatives to skin care.

October 27, 2013 at 7:42 pmHi Fina,
I agree that the ingredients in this product are quite simple + I’m not sure why they charge so much. This product, as well as many others from the RMS line are in the green luxury price range + I’ve found that the “Un” Cover Up is actually far superior in terms of performance to many of the other brands I’ve tried. Please feel free to contact the company directly for more info.

December 2, 2013 at 5:37 pmI’ve heard a lot of good things about this concealer and I actually just ordered a few samples to see for myself. The only concern I have is the fact that coconut oil is the very first ingredient and I have heard this to be highly comedogenic (pore-clogging). Needless to say I’m not too keen on the idea of putting something pore-clogging on potentially an already clogged pore just to cover up. Have you had any issues with this or insight to offer regarding coconut oil? Thank you!

July 13, 2015 at 5:44 pmI love RMS Beauty! I’ve used their products for a while now and honestly haven’t come across one that isn’t totally incredible yet. They just recently added a foundation brush to their product line that makes applying the un-coverup as foundation so simple. I picked it up a few weeks ago and am in love.
You should also try their living luminizer and buriti bronzer if you like their un-coverup!
xoxo,
