Review

Bubble + Bee Organic has been a long time fave of mine + a company whose standards I totally trust.

A few years back, I stopped using toners on a regular basis, when I realized I didn’t really need them any more. I had finally balanced my skin after a relentless battle with hormonal acne +  a break-up with Proactiv (I swear it’s like crack! Like, in a bad way) + my cleansers were working like a champ. So, I simplified my daily routine, but still used them after facials. It wasn’t until recently though that I realized that most skincare products work waaaay better on damp skin. So, I started using them again, mainly before applying my foundation. The ones containing glycerin seemed to improved the look + feel of my makeup – so I began using them as a primer. I did a little research on DIY-ing my own, but then out came this FAB little gem of a product! While nothing natural I’ve tried has even come close to my beloved ex, MAC  Prep + Prime (ick… I even feel dirty saying those words, Lol), this multi-use product is as good as it gets out of the natural ones I’ve tried! To use as a clarifying toning mist after cleansing – just spritz onto a cotton pad + gently wipe away any impurities. Then, follow with an organic face cream to seal in moisture. To add hydration or use as a skin primer under makeup, close your eyes + lightly mist onto skin, following with moisturizer + / or makeup.  You can also use it as a makeup setting spray – after applying foundation, bronzer, blush + shadows, etc. (but before eyeliner + mascara or it may run!). This helps avoid that powdery, pancake look that’s all too common with mineral makeup! Less is definitely more though, it can get tacky if you use too much! As always, it smells like fresh squeezed limes + the packaging is adorable (shout-out to Stevie B)! Love the heavy, amber glass bottle.

Bonus for the boys!

My boyfriend informed me that he LOVES using this as an aftershave! Keep in mind he’s really picky stubborn about what he uses on his skin (unfortunately, not as in, ingredients – but as in toxic product loyalty! OMG!). Anyway, one of the only natural or organic brands he’ll use (out of all the FAB brands I get to try) though, is Bubble + Bee! So, that should say a lot! On a side note, he also uses their body butter as an after-shave balm!

So, I would definitely buy this again, but I’m apparently going to have to hide it in a safe place in my house, as I do with a ll my other B+B stuff! Thanks Steph!
