I’m so excited to announce the release of a brand new book, written by my girl + fellow Cancer Thriver, Christine Egan – The Healthy Girl’s Guide to Breast Cancer.
Since meeting her on Facebook, her story has kept me on my non-toxic, polished toes when it comes to eating healthier! Not only is she notorious for posting daily smoothie pics, with bedazzled, glass straws… but when a pitty party’s in full-swing, she’s usually the first to inbox me to cut the crap! Lol. Definitely… part of my Cancer Clique!
Her Story…
After graduating college, Christine started her career as an account supervisor for an advertising agency, working on a major fast food account. She left corporate life to be a wife + mom. She pursued her passion for health + nutrition by attending The New York School for Massage Therapy + The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. While starting a private nutrition practice + serving as the director of a local food movement organization; she discovered she had Cancer. Determined to stay healthy, Christine blogged about her cancer journey + ran a half marathon just after completing radiation. She now lives with her husband, three kids, + dog, Zoe, in Bayport, New York.
Most Cancer stories usually start with some kind of struggle or fight. This story starts with a song. “You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here? You may say to yourself, my God, what have I done?” These words rang true for Christine. Many questions + stories circulate about Cancer. Are you telling yourself you are a victim of Cancer? Are you worried the Cancer will come back? Are you stuck in the role of being sick? Egan made a conscious choice to tell a different story. The Healthy Girl’s Guide to Breast Cancer is part memoir + part guide, revealing the all-too-true story of Cancer in this country… with a healthy twist! Unlike many other Cancer books on the market – this is not a cancer story; it’s a fabulous story about health + wellness!
