My latest Budget Beauty Finds, and obsessions from NOW!
I love squeaky-clean beauty, and all it has to offer – but, as I get older, I’m finding that sometimes, my skin just needs more. And, instead of turning to things like Fillers for fine lines, I’d rather push the natural envelope a bit – so, this is my compromise.
NOW 2-in-1 Eye Correcting Cream
I wear Contact Lenses and have extremely sensitive eyes. So, I’m forever on the hunt for an Eye Cream – that doesn’t creep. Meaning, it won’t get into your eyes just because you apply it near them. Unfortunately, this is a really big issue with many clean eye creams though, which sucks – because I’ve found so many that I’ve loved – and just couldn’t use. Ugh, IYKYK. Spending like, $50+ on a teeny, un-returnable jar to find out, is getting pretty old too. So, as I was recently perusing Amazon – I came across several Reviews from women, in a similar sitch, who swore by these two products from NOW. And, here we are. #influenced
This works well on dry, tired skin, plays well under makeup (more about that in a min.), doesn’t creep, and doesn’t irritate my eyes. It also really tightens, brightens, smoothes out fine lines, and has somewhat helped, to reduce my very dark circles. The kicker – it’s only $18! For the record, I already have 2 back-ups of this, incase I run out, so – that should tell you something.
Made with Vitamin K, Mulberry Extract, and ECOCERT approved Sepilift DPHP (a plant-derived, oil-soluble wrinkle-corrector, that smoothes and moisturizes aging skin). This had a few ingredients I had to look up, but after researching, I understand their purpose, and feel comfortable using them.
In terms of wearing it under makeup – it definitely doesn’t move, or cause any creasing, which I was shocked by. But, it can make my under eyes look a little dry and cakey though – specifically with Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (which is drying on it’s own, to begin with). So, I don’t want to judge it by that, but that’s the only thing I’ve tried so far – since that’s what I’m using to cover dark circles.
Love the airless pump, but the generic look, and the bulky packaging could definitely use an update (for both the Eye Cream, and the Facial Moisturizer) in my opinion. I gently apply this on clean, damp skin, around my entire eye area, morning and night. And, I’ve also applied it to my entire face, too – until I found out they had a Face Cream!
NOW Wrinkle Rescue Moisturizer
I have incredibly sensitive skin, that leans a little on the dry side. And, for reference, my Holy Grail Moisturizer is Odacite’s Oleosomes Time Release Delivery Hydrating Cream, with a few drops of their Po + R Face Serum). While I’m not ready to give those up yet, I find myself reaching for NOW’s Wrinkle Rescue Moisturizer over those, lately. Plus, it’s only $17! I’ve been using both of these NOW products for about 2 months, so far – and I’m curious to see how these play out in the colder months. I feel like they’ll be ok though.
In my opinion, this is similar to the 2-in-1 Correcting Eye Cream, and it features Blue-Green Algae, which I love! My favorite thing about this facial cream though, is that I’ve noticed that my skin is so much brighter, so much more toned, and hydrated – and, the texture is just so much better! Still there, but like – a world of difference for me. That’s something I’ve been dealing with for awhile, and no matter what I’ve tried, I could not get rid of it. In full disclosure, I have switched supplements recently too though, so I can’t say it’s 100% this, but I’m pretty sure it is, since I started this prior, and noticed a difference almost immediately. And, it’s only continued to get better with use.
This also makes an amazing makeup primer! It really helps things to stay put, but I can also easily blend out my liquid foundation, and cream contour when using it. It’s perfect for summer since I find it a little mattifying. But, no real issues with it looking cakey or dry. That could depend on the type of foundation you’re using though (like, I personally wouldn’t use a super-matte foundation with it, but if you have really oily skin – you may be ok). I’m currently using a conventional foundation (I know, don’t ask), and Kosas Cloud Set Setting Powder (obsessed with) on top – it has an amazingly natural finish all together! I apply 1 pump to clean, damp skin – morning, night, and prior to my makeup.
All in all – I highly recommend checking these out! Especially since they work amazingly well, are at such a great price point, and are easy to find!
