Final Thoughts

I found about Afterglow when I first made the switch to naturals, a few years back. At the time – they really only offered loose powder cosmetics. I’d always heard good things about this company, so when I found out they had pressed eye shadows – I just had to try them! All are highly pigmented + have a smooth, buttery texture – so they blend easily, unlike many naturals I’ve tried. I apply these over concealer for the best, buildable coverage + have never had an issues with them creasing. The amount I need usually depends on the shade. I tend to have to really layer on the lighter colors to get them to show up on my skin-tone (a common issue I’ve found with naturals) + use much less of the darker shades to achieve the look I’m going for. I have the following shades Feather, Gild, Icon, Terracotta, Stencil, + Mosaic. One peeve I had was the packaging. I absolutely love the way it looks, but it wasn’t practical for me. I don’t see a need for the mirrors + would have preferred a clear window so I could see the color inside, without having to open every single one. This can be a huge time-killer when I’m in a hurry, especially if you have a lot of them like I do! I’m also definitely much more of a satin / matte girl, so I wish they offered a few more of these without the shimmer, but I’d definitely buy these again! Also adore the fact that they offer refills! Yay! Thanks Kristin + Afterglow!

Which pressed eyeshadow color(s) is a must-have? I have been eyeing these myself and tend to gravitate towards matte shades as well.

      Hey Joana!

Depends on the colors you’re looking for.
If I had to pick, I probably like Feather + Stencil the best – out of the ones I got.
