This is my daily, go-to Green Juice Recipe.
The original name for this lovely drink is “Dr. Nick’s Anti-inflammatory Juice”, which was created by my nutritionist + biochemist as a way to detoxify my body, balance my hormones + prevent Breast Cancer from coming back after I was diagnosed.
I’ll be honest though… Green Juice didn’t always tickle my taste buds. When I began juicing back in 2009, there were plenty of mornings I gagged (just because it was green) + called it the “I-don’t-want-to-effing-drink-this-sh*t-today-juice”. Luckily, I’m a little more mature about it now.
My palate eventually adjusted once I realized how fabulous I felt. Now, I can’t live without it!
On a typical morning, I drink anywhere from 20-32 oz. of this green elixir.

April 12, 2011 at 1:20 amI LOVE LOVE LOVE your GG glass, so cute!!! You are inspriring me to try this out, although I don’t have a juicer and they seem to be pricey. The more I read about juicing the more I want to try it. I’ll get there, maybe I should ask for a juicer for Christmas! ;)

April 12, 2011 at 2:21 amI’ve never had fennel in my juice before. I’ll have to try that. I have to say that I much prefer green smoothies to juicing, mostly because I think they are tastier and because I hate washing my juicer! (I’m really lazy, lol). Do you have any handy tips for recycling juice pulp, or do you just pitch it?

April 13, 2011 at 3:20 pmI love to juice and love what you have posted. I have the Breville 8005 and would encourage you to upgrade to that as you will save so much money by having a true masticating juicer. We switched and have seen a huge difference. Also try to only add two items with fructose to keep your sugars down, so only carrot and apple or only grapes and lime, my favorite!

April 19, 2011 at 1:15 pmJust tried this and it’s not too bad! I really like the ginger and fennel; it makes it spicy and less… well green! lol! One question, can I make a bigger batch and keep it in the fridge? How long does it last in the fridge? (I was wondering if I could just make a big batch and only have to juice every other day). Thanks so much for your FANTASTIC blog!

April 19, 2011 at 9:17 pmIt’s not awful, right? I’ve had some awful ones!!! YUCK! Lol. You just have to ease into it and don’t be too hard on yourself ;)
About the bigger batches… Kris Carr makes it once a day in the morning (drinking 1/2 in the morning & 1/2 in the afternoon) I believe. They say that you should drink your fresh juice ASAP or w/in 15 min. of juicing so it doesn’t oxidize (loosing it’s nutritional value) which happens as soon as you break the cell walls down. She uses glass mason jars and fills them to the top (not allowing an room for air) and keeps them in the frigde. I’ve tried it… and the smell of leftover juice turns my stomach for some reason. So I do it everyday and drink it for breakfast. That’s why they say the best juicer is the one you’ll use everyday I guess. Hope this helps!

June 3, 2011 at 7:34 amI’m so glad I’m not the only one who is struggling to start juicing. This is similar to a juice I make but the idea of adding fennel sounds fantastic. I’m definitely trying this asap!

July 16, 2011 at 9:17 pmIf you use a like Samson or one of the other slow grinding juicers then your juice will not oxidise as fast and you can hold it for 24 hours BUT they are very expensive and a complete b@#ch to clean!
I have been feeling very virtuous drinking spirulina smoothies for breakfast but might just have to try some green juices as well! I’ll probably skip the fennel tho!
I just have to try it because of the name!!!

May 11, 2013 at 7:35 pmHey!! Do you pair the juice with something else for breakfast or just drink alone?
Danielle
May 15, 2013 at 2:32 pmHi Liz. I just drink it alone + eat lunch a little earlier. Hope this helps! xo <3

July 2, 2013 at 12:40 amHey Liz!
I drink my Juice by itself + have either an early lunch if I’m hungry, or a few handfuls of seeds + nuts to hold me over.
